Chase Ultimate Rewards just launched a new transfer promotion—but it might feel familiar. Until yesterday, a larger bonus to the same partner was live. Now it’s back, though with slightly less upside.

Get a 50% Bonus When You Transfer Chase Points to Marriott Bonvoy

From now through Friday, August 15, 2025, Chase is offering a 50% bonus when you transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy.

This bonus is automatically applied during the transfer process for U.S.-based cardholders. That means the new, boosted transfer ratio will be reflected right away when you move your points. There’s no limit to how many points you can transfer with the bonus, and the process is typically instant.

Chase has run similar promotions in the past, sometimes multiple times per year. Just yesterday, there was a 65% bonus available, so the 50% rate is lower than some recent deals. Historically, Chase-to-Marriott transfer bonuses have ranged between 40% and 70%.

Should You Use This 50% Transfer Bonus?

Every time Chase offers a transfer bonus to Marriott Bonvoy, we ask the same question: Is it worth it? And usually, the answer is no.

Here’s why: Based on our current valuations, Marriott Bonvoy points are worth about 0.7 cents each, while Chase Ultimate Rewards points are worth around 1.7 cents each. So even with a 50% transfer bonus, you’re still only getting roughly 1.05 cents of value per Chase point.

That’s far below what you could get by transferring Chase points to other partners, like World of Hyatt, where the value per point is usually much higher. Both Hyatt and Marriott are 1:1 transfer partners with Chase, but Hyatt points consistently deliver more bang for your buck.

When This Transfer Bonus Might Make Sense

That said, there are scenarios where transferring to Marriott with a 50% bonus could be worth it—but they’re the exception, not the rule.

If you have a specific Marriott stay in mind where the cash rate is high but the points rate is reasonable, you could come out ahead. Even then, consider the alternatives:

  • Marriott Bonvoy frequently sells points with discounts or bonus promotions, sometimes offering better value than a Chase transfer.
  • Marriott’s co-branded credit cards (from American Express and Chase) are often a more efficient way to earn Bonvoy points directly.

Here’s a breakdown of Marriott Bonvoy credit cards that can help you earn points more efficiently:

Credit CardIssuerKey BenefitsApply Here

Also, keep in mind that Marriott uses dynamic pricing now. That means there’s no fixed maximum for how many points a hotel night can cost, which makes the value of Bonvoy points more unpredictable.

Still, there are niche redemptions where this transfer might work well—especially in luxury markets where cash prices are steep.

Final Thoughts

You have until August 15, 2025, to take advantage of the 50% Chase to Marriott Bonvoy transfer bonus.

At TheMilesAcademy, we generally don’t recommend using Chase Ultimate Rewards points this way unless you’ve identified a specific, high-value redemption. Marriott isn’t one of Chase’s strongest transfer partners, and a 50% bonus doesn’t change that significantly.
